Directions to the fishery

The nearest postcode we have is for the Gate Inn pub in Marshside which is CT3 4EB.

The lakes are actually on the Chislet marshes about a mile from the Gate Inn.

If coming from Thanet or London directions take the A299 (Thanet Way) and look for the signs to Marshside. These are well situated and are opposite/near the old ‘road house pub’ the Roman Galley which is now a small housing complex. follow the signs to Marshside. Turn left at the mini-roundabout and the Gate Inn will be on your right. 300m past the pub is a turning to the left called Chitty Lane. Take this turn and follow the green signs to the lakes.

If you’re coming from Canterbury direction take the A28  signposted to Margate. When you get to Upstreet turn left on Nethergong Hill (signposted to Chislet). follow the road through Chislet, passed the school on the left and church on the right. Go down the hill and take the Chitty Lane turn on the right at the bottom by the sharp left hand bend. Follow the green signs to the lakes
