Deano catches a whopper!!
08/10/2007 by Mike Inkster.
The lakes have fished really well during the summer and the season has produced two big fish on the Old (Homershams) Lake. The biggest reported was a 32 lb’er but no ‘photo (?). However, Deano caught a 25lb 10oz common in late September and the picture is there for all to see. Well done Deano.
The lakes will be open all through the winter and with the stock and variety in the lakes there should be something to catch most of the time. We are hoping to get some trees and shrubs in around Scroggins Lake in the coming weeks to provide some shelter from the wind next year.
In the meanwhile, good fishing….

A good week.
27/05/2007 by Mike Inkster.
The roadway from the Old lake to Scroggins is now finished which makes getting from one to the other much better on your car springs!
There have been some good catches on both lakes with tiny Roach at one end of the scales and a 9lb 4 oz Tench at the other. A night fisherman on the Old lake had 6 ‘double’ Carp as part of his night’s efforts with a good mixed bag of other fish. His biggest was a 19lb Mirror. Another night fisherman also had a similarly successful evening.
We had a delivery of Tench to Scroggins on Thursday but as yet am not aware of anyone having caught one - let me know if you do catch tench in Scroggins.
The Bank holiday weather is, of course, grim but I’m sure that won’t put all of you off so good fishing.

New Blog for the Fishery
23/05/2007 by Mike Inkster.
Wednesday 23rd May 2007 and I enter a new world of technology. I want to use the blog to keep our fishery users up to date with what’s being caught on both lakes, pictures of some of the catches, competition dates and results as well as any other items of interest that come to mind. If you have any comments please let us hear them. The fishing has been intermittany yhis week with really good catches some days and not so good on others. How can you catch several 16lb Carp one day and in the same swim the next day only catch tiny Roach?
Work on surfacing the roadway from the Old Lake round to Scroggins lake starts today which will make life a lot easier for everyone - especially when it’s wet. The land owner wants us to stop vehicles from driving round Scroggins as we currently allow people to do so we will be putting in posts in the near future to stop this - sorry about that but it’s not something we have any control over.
We would also like you to use a ‘one way system’ when going between the lakes. From the Old lake to Scroggins and then when leaving Scroggins going ‘right’ down to the road and back to the Old lake via the marsh road. This is to stop vehicles meeting in the middle where there is little or no room to pass unless you want to back up the whole way or end in the ditch.
That’s it for now must find out how to get pictures on here!!
